It was very hot yesterday, the sky a perfect cloudless blue. I drove my friends to the Outlet Mall with the windows rolled up. I could feel the sun burn me even if the AC was on. The reflection of the sun from the road made me squint my eyes. My wife wore large sunglasses which could cover half of her face. After a while, the sun shined on my face through the left window as the car’s direction changed by the road. I put the sun visor to the left to protect my face from the light. My friend who sat behind me opened her sunshade, and put it against the left window and covered it. The passengers from other cars looked at us with smiles as their car passed by, we nodded with smiles for politeness.
I’m a little confused, because I was told American people are polite, but I don’t think they are polite enough to say hello to strangers in the which they passed by. I told my wife my confusion, she laughed, ” They looked at us because they were confused why we opened umbrella in the car!”
